How it works
Select your video
Open the editor in your phone browser and choose a short clip from your device.
Generate and review
Choose the spoken language, transcribe and correct the words. Keep captions clear of faces and app controls.
Save and play the result
Share or download the export, then play the saved file before publishing.
Start with a short clip so you can check the full workflow on your phone: selecting the file, reviewing words, exporting and saving. Device memory, browser support and source format can affect longer jobs.
The source video stays on the phone. The app and its assets use data, and extracted audio is sent for transcription. Use Wi-Fi if you want to avoid mobile-data use.
- Browser workflow
- Use a current phone browser and select media from the file or photo picker.
- Touch editing
- Review the transcript and placement before the final export.
- Optional home-screen shortcut
- Add the app to your home screen if you want a convenient entry point.
- Same caption catalogue
- Try the available styles on your own footage rather than relying on a demo alone.
Save the exported file
Keep the editor visible during export. When the file is ready, use Share if the browser offers it, or Download. Saving to Photos, Files or another app depends on the device’s share options.
Open the saved file and play it before posting. If you cannot find it, check the browser’s downloads and your Files app rather than immediately exporting again.
When a laptop is the better choice
Long recordings and high-resolution exports need more memory and processing time. A laptop is often more comfortable for reviewing a full interview or doing many precise corrections.
If the phone suspends the page or an export fails, try a shorter clip, close other heavy apps and keep the editor in the foreground. Preserve the original file before troubleshooting.
Common questions
Can I do this without installing an app?
Yes. The browser workflow does not require an app-store download.
Does it work without internet?
No. Caption generation requires cloud transcription. The video stays on your device. Both Candy Lite and Candy Ultra send extracted audio for cloud transcription; sign-in and an internet connection are required.
Why did work stop when I switched apps?
Mobile browsers can suspend background pages. Keep the editor in the foreground while processing and exporting.
Can I export a full podcast on my phone?
Input limits depend on your plan, but practical performance also depends on the device. Use a laptop for long or demanding work when possible.
