How it works

  1. Check permission

Confirm that your recording may be processed by the required services.

  2. Transcribe and review

Choose the language and review the generated transcript against the original audio.

  3. Inspect the deliverable

Check for errors and sensitive content before sharing the exported file.

The distinction between video and audio matters. Keeping frames local protects against a full video upload, but speech itself can contain confidential names, plans or customer information.

Check your organisation’s approved tools and the product’s current privacy terms before processing restricted material. If your policy requires all audio to remain offline, this transcription workflow is not a fit.

Video stays local
The source video is decoded and rendered on your device.
Audio is sent for transcription
Candy Lite and Candy Ultra both use cloud transcription. Neither is an offline option.
Review the spoken content
Confidentiality can concern what is said as well as what appears on screen.
Keep your own master
Retain the original recording and the deliverables in your approved storage location.

A concrete approval checklist

Before starting, identify whether the recording includes personal data, unreleased financial information or confidential customer details. Check whether sending its audio to an external processor is permitted.

If permission depends on retention, processor location or a contractual agreement, obtain the relevant terms from the service owner. A marketing statement that the video stays local does not answer those questions.

Review before distributing a captioned copy

Check names, numbers and claims against the recording. A transcription mistake can change meaning, particularly in an internal announcement or a contractual discussion.

Remember that burning words into a video makes them visible to anyone who receives the file. Inspect the saved export for sensitive material before sending it to a wider audience.

Common questions

Is this fully offline?

No. Transcription requires sign-in and internet access, and extracted audio is sent to cloud services.

Can I use it for NDA-covered footage?

Only if the agreement and your organisation’s rules permit the actual processing involved. This page does not grant that permission.

Does switching to Candy Lite keep audio on-device?

No. Both engines use cloud transcription.

Does no video upload mean no data is transmitted?

No. Audio is transmitted for transcription, and account and service operations also require network requests.
