How it works
Add and transcribe
Add your media and choose its spoken language. Sign in to generate captions; extracted audio is sent for transcription while the video stays on your device.
Review the result
Play the clip and correct names, numbers and any misheard phrases before choosing the final appearance.
Export and check
Download the captioned video, then play the saved file at its intended viewing size. Keep the editable project for later corrections.
A faceless video can be a screen recording, an illustrated explanation or narration over footage. These need different caption placements. Treat the visual material as information, not merely space to cover with text.
LumaCaption styles the words from your audio or script. It is not a tool that researches a subject, writes a verified script or automatically finds suitable footage.
- Text-led scenes
- Big Type styles let a short narrated point become the visual focus.
- Footage-led scenes
- Use a quieter style when a chart, product or screen demonstration needs room.
- Editable emphasis
- Choose which word deserves attention instead of highlighting every phrase equally.
- Reusable outputs
- Keep a transcript as well as the finished video for later editing.
Build a clear first ten seconds
State the question or result in words the viewer can understand without the preceding context. Show the thing you are talking about when possible. Then use typography to emphasise the point rather than make a vague promise.
For a tutorial, keep captions away from the cursor and the control being demonstrated. For a chart, avoid covering labels. For a quotation, verify it against the source.
Alternate intensity with rest
A full-frame treatment can introduce a section, followed by calmer text during the explanation. Watch the entire sequence to check that the viewer has time to read while looking at the imagery.
Caption animation does not establish that the underlying content is original, accurate or eligible for monetisation. Those decisions depend on the material and the destination’s rules.
Common questions
Do I need a talking-head recording?
No. You can work with voiceover or another supported media input and choose a backdrop. Review the result as a video, including pauses.
Does this generate B-roll?
No. Bring the material you need or use the editor’s available backdrop choices.
Will full-frame text always perform better?
No. It is a design option, not an engagement guarantee. Use it when words deserve the frame and smaller captions when the footage does.
