Native captions or burned-in captions?
TikTok supports auto-generated captions and lets creators edit them. Its creator captions also provide editing and styling inside the app. If you work only in TikTok, those may be all you need.
Use a burned-in export when the same clip also goes to Reels or Shorts and should look the same there. Before publishing, check how any native caption track sits next to your burned-in text, so two layers do not cover the subject.
Make captions readable beside TikTok’s controls
Leave room for the action buttons on the right and for the account name and description at the bottom. A longer description or a different phone changes what is covered, and a fixed safe-zone diagram cannot show that. Test inside the app.
In a quick demonstration, keep each spoken instruction off the hand that is doing it. Moving the caption block slightly above the action can help more than making the text larger.

Can TikTok generate subtitles itself?
Yes. TikTok offers auto-generated captions and creator captions. If their workflow and look suit you, use them.
Can I turn off subtitles after burning them in?
No. Burned-in text is part of the video image. Keep your original clip and project so you can export another version.
Will this generate a viral caption or hashtags?
