How it works
Choose Hindi and Roman output
Switch Roman output on before you transcribe and confirm the script preview shows Latin letters.
Review the mixed-language words
Correct names, amounts and Roman spellings while listening.
Style and export
Preview at phone size and save a captioned video or subtitle file.
If you say “aaj ka budget ready hai”, your subtitle should keep that Hindi-English sentence as you said it. Roman output is the script choice for that job.
Hinglish has no single spelling convention. Decide how your channel writes recurring words and names, then make those choices consistent in the transcript.
- Preserve the mixed sentence
- Review English terms inside the Hindi sentence instead of translating the whole message.
- Control Roman spelling
- Correct “kyun”, “kyu” or another spelling to fit your audience and channel.
- Keep styled video and text
- Export a captioned video or download the reviewed transcript and subtitle files.
Choose the correct output before transcription
Select Hindi and switch on Roman output, which needs Candy Ultra. If you want देवनागरी, leave Roman output off instead.
On the free plan, this workflow has 5 Ultra minutes a month, with each video capped at 2 minutes. Candy Lite minutes cannot be spent on Roman output.
A useful Hinglish review pass
Listen for a sentence such as “Aaj ka budget ₹5,000 hai”. Check the amount, preserve any brand’s official spelling and keep Hindi words romanised consistently. The example is illustrative. It is not a measured transcription result.
Read the captions without the audio after the first pass. If a Roman word could be read two ways, use the spelling your audience will recognize rather than the shortest spelling.
Three outputs that are easy to confuse
| Output | Illustrative sentence | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Hindi / Devanagari | आज का बजट तैयार है | Hindi written in its native script |
| Hinglish / Roman Hindi | Aaj ka budget ready hai | Hindi-English written in Roman letters |
| English translation | Today’s budget is ready | The message translated into English |
Common questions
Does Hinglish mean translating into English?
No. Roman Hindi keeps Hindi words in Latin letters. Translating the message into English is a separate task.
Why do I need Candy Ultra?
Roman output is available in the Ultra workflow. Lite transcribes supported speech without that Roman-output step.
Can I fix the romanised spelling?
Yes. Edit individual words and replay the affected line to check the result.
