How it works
Add and transcribe
Add your media and choose its spoken language. Sign in to generate captions; extracted audio is sent for transcription while the video stays on your device.
Review the result
Play the clip and correct names, numbers and any misheard phrases before choosing the final appearance.
Export and check
Download the captioned video, then play the saved file at its intended viewing size. Keep the editable project for later corrections.
List the features you actually use before replacing an editor. Generating speech text, translating it, composing multiple visual layers and publishing a finished video are different jobs.
LumaCaption provides an editable transcript, caption styling and video or subtitle-file output. Its Roman output changes script; it is not a subtitle translation service.
- Visual caption options
- Preview the styles against your own footage and select a treatment that stays readable.
- Language selection
- Choose from the supported spoken languages and review the generated text.
- Video or text outputs
- Export captioned video, SRT, VTT or TXT according to the next step.
- Cloud audio, local video
- The video stays on your device. Both Candy Lite and Candy Ultra send extracted audio for cloud transcription; sign-in and an internet connection are required.
Check translation before switching
VEED documents a subtitle-translation workflow. If translated versions are part of your publishing routine, LumaCaption’s transcription and Romanisation workflow is not a like-for-like replacement.
For Hindi, Devanagari and Roman-script Hinglish are different writing choices for the spoken content. Changing the script does not produce an English translation.
Run a small migration test
Bring one finished, uncaptioned clip and recreate only the caption step. Check a name, a difficult phrase, timing and the final export before moving an ongoing project.
Keep the original project in your existing editor. A rendered video is not an editable project transfer, and a subtitle file carries text and timing rather than every visual effect.
Common questions
Does it only support three languages?
No. The language picker supports 93 spoken languages. Choose the language and review accuracy with your own audio.
Does it translate subtitles?
Not in this workflow. Transcription follows the spoken content, and Romanisation changes script.
Can I transfer a VEED project directly?
No direct project importer is offered here. Export an appropriate clean media file and add that to LumaCaption.
Will my SRT preserve the design?
No. Use video output for the animated appearance, or SRT for text and timings.
