No watermark
A subtitle generator with no watermark. At all.
Not "no watermark on paid". No watermark on free either. Nothing is stamped onto your video, ever.
LumaCaption adds no watermark to exported video on any plan, including the free one. Paid plans buy Candy Ultra transcription minutes, 4K export and longer videos — never the removal of branding, because there is none to remove.
The watermark is the oldest lever in creative software: give the tool away, put your logo in the corner of the output, and charge to remove it. It works because it converts, and it is why "without watermark" is one of the most searched modifiers in this whole category.
It is also why so many free captioning tools are a waste of an afternoon — you do the work, you export, and there is a logo sitting in the corner of a video you cannot post. LumaCaption does not do this. There is no watermark on any plan, so there is nothing to pay to remove.
Clean exports on the free plan
The free plan exports clean 1080p video with no branding of any kind. It is a plan, not a trial that stamps its output.
Nothing to upgrade away
Paid plans add Candy Ultra minutes, 4K export and longer videos. Removing branding is not on the list because there is no branding.
Unlimited exports too
Rendering is free on every plan. You can re-export the same clip fifty times while you tune a style without spending anything.
Every style unlocked
All 240+ caption styles are available on the free plan. Style choice is not the paywall either.
What the free plan actually is
A free plan is only meaningful if you can name its limits, so here they are exactly. Five minutes of Candy Ultra transcription a month, twenty minutes of Candy Lite, two minutes maximum per video, 1080p export. Every caption style, every font, unlimited exports, unlimited SRT, VTT and plain-text downloads, and no watermark.
The thing being metered is transcription — the expensive part — and the thing being free is everything downstream of it. That is a deliberate inversion of the usual model, where transcription is cheap and generous and the export is where they get you.

The other thing that gets stamped on free exports
Watermarks are the visible tax on free tools. The invisible one is resolution: plenty of tools export free video at 720p, which looks fine in a preview and soft the moment it is on a phone next to a 1080p clip.
The free plan here exports 1080p, which is what the short-form platforms actually serve. 4K is a paid feature, and it genuinely matters for two things only — footage you will crop into after export, and anything going to a screen larger than a phone. For a Reel or a Short, 1080p is not a compromise.

Common questions
Does the free plan add a watermark?
No. There is no watermark on any plan, including free — nothing is stamped onto your export at any point. Paid plans buy Candy Ultra transcription minutes, 4K export and longer videos, and there is no branding to remove because none is added.
What resolution does the free plan export at?
1080p, which is what short-form platforms actually serve. 4K is on the paid plans and matters mainly for footage you will crop into after export or anything destined for a screen bigger than a phone.
Are exports limited on the free plan?
No. Exports are free and unlimited on every plan. The metered resource is transcription — five minutes of Candy Ultra and twenty of Candy Lite a month on the free plan — so re-rendering the same clip while you tune a style costs nothing.
What is the catch, then?
Length and minutes. The free plan caps videos at two minutes each and gives you twenty-five transcription minutes a month across both engines. That is a real daily driver for short-form and genuinely insufficient for podcasts or long-form, which is what the paid plans are for.
Is the SRT download watermarked or limited?
Neither. SRT, WebVTT and plain-text downloads are unlimited on every plan and contain your text and timings with nothing appended.
