LumaCaption is priced in rupees — ₹199/month for Creator and ₹999/month for Pro through Razorpay — and supports Hindi in Devanagari and Hinglish in Roman script as first-class transcription modes rather than entries in a generic language list.

Almost every captioning tool an Indian creator can buy was designed somewhere else and priced somewhere else. The bill arrives in dollars, your card adds a forex markup on top, and the language support treats Hindi as one of a hundred entries in a dropdown — with no notion at all of the way most people actually talk on camera, which is Hindi and English in the same sentence.

This was built the other way around. Prices are set in rupees, checkout runs through Razorpay, and the three supported languages are English, Hindi and Hinglish — with Hinglish as its own mode rather than a workaround.

Hinglish as a first-class mode

Code-switched Hindi-English transcribed as mixed speech and written in the Roman script your audience reads fastest.

Real Devanagari

Hindi captions in proper हिंदी script with word-level timing — including in handwriting styles, via the one hand in the catalogue that draws Devanagari.

Why Hinglish is the hard problem, and the important one

The default assumption behind every multilingual transcription model is that a speaker picks a language and stays in it. Indian speech does not work that way. A single sentence routinely carries a Hindi verb, an English noun, a Hindi postposition and an English adjective, and the speaker does not experience that as switching languages at all.

Handed to a general model, the usual outcome is that it commits to one language and does damage to the rest of the sentence: English words become approximate Hindi ones, or Hindi words come back in an unrelated script. Neither is fixable by post-processing, because the information was lost at transcription.

Hinglish here is treated as its own target: mixed speech transcribed as mixed speech and rendered in Roman letters. That matters for reading speed as much as for accuracy — for most Indian audiences, Roman-script Hinglish is read faster than either formal Devanagari or English-only captions, because it is what they already read all day in messages.

The economics, stated plainly

The free plan gives you five minutes of Candy Ultra and twenty minutes of Candy Lite a month, two minutes per video, 1080p export, every style unlocked, unlimited exports and no watermark. For a creator posting Status clips and Reels, that is a working plan rather than a trial.

Creator at ₹199 a month is three hours of Ultra, ten hours of Lite, thirty-minute videos and 4K. Pro at ₹999 is twenty hours of Ultra, fifty of Lite and ninety-minute videos. Annual billing brings those to ₹166 and ₹832 a month.

If a month runs long there are prepaid top-ups from ₹69 for fifteen Ultra minutes, valid twelve months and drawn only after the monthly allowance is used. And the thing that is not metered anywhere on that list is rendering — exports are free and unlimited on every plan, which is what makes trying six caption styles on the same Reel a free decision instead of a budgeted one.

Common questions

Is it priced in rupees?

Yes — ₹199/month for Creator and ₹999/month for Pro, or ₹166 and ₹832 a month billed annually. Checkout runs through Razorpay, so you can pay by UPI, card or net banking without a dollar conversion or a card forex markup.

Which Indian languages are supported?

Hindi in real Devanagari and Hinglish in Roman script, alongside English. Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and the rest are not offered, and deliberately so — nothing gets listed until it has been benchmarked properly, and a language list longer than the tuning behind it is how a tool loses trust here.

What exactly is the Hinglish mode?

Hindi-English mixed speech transcribed as mixed speech and written in Roman letters — the way it is actually typed in messages. It is not a transliteration of Hindi output, which is why the English words in a code-switched sentence stay English instead of being approximated into Devanagari and back.

Is there a free plan?

Yes, and it does not expire: five minutes of Candy Ultra and twenty of Candy Lite a month, two minutes per video, 1080p, every one of the 242 styles unlocked, unlimited exports, unlimited SRT downloads and no watermark on any of it.

What if I need more minutes in one month?

Prepaid top-ups start at ₹69 for 15 Candy Ultra minutes and stay valid for twelve months. They are drawn only after your monthly allowance is spent, so they are not wasted in a light month.
